Matthews Studio Equipment Premieres FLOATCAM DC-SLIDER MOTION CONTROL SYSTEM at NAB 2012

March 19, 2012. Burbank, CA. At NAB 2012, Matthews Studio Equipment, the exclusive distributor of all FloatCam products in the United States, North and South America as well as Asia, will introduce the new FloatCam Motion Control System specifically designed for last year’s Black Diamond Award winning FloatCam DC-Slider, which is designed and manufactured by Floatcam. “It allows the user to create almost endless possibilities of camera movement and control,” explains Robert Kulesh, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Matthews Studio Equipment.

“With this specially designed FloatCam Motion Control System every movement with the FloatCam DC-Slider, manual or programmed, can be recorded up to 999 times and stored for later use. You can even record up to 99 time extensions. The FloatCam Motion Control System has a wide range of speed settings from 0-20cm/seconds and a speed ramp range from .5-2.5 seconds.

And, because of the patent pending, precision counter balance system on the FloatCam DC-Slider family, only one motor is required for all functions.”

Over the past year, shooters have put FloatCam DC-Slider, this unique, counter-balanced, multi-function, multi-angled camera platform through its paces. It’s created more than smooth horizontal camera movement. It has become a mini-jib as well as a six-foot tower. It has been mounted on a single tripod and placed on level or uneven surfaces, where the constant counter-balance has maintained a uniform pressure for smooth camera movement. It’s also captured a wide range of vertical images in mini-jib function, no matter how acute the angle.

By adding the new FloatCam Motion Control System features, shooters can capture a series of DSLR Time Lapse and Stop Motion modes. Time Lapse Continuous allows for movement across the slider during the time-lapse process. Time-Lapse After Shots or Shoot-Move-Shoot mode works similar to the continuous time-lapse mode, but the camera stops before each shot. Stop Motion Distance mode allows programmed distance between each shot with precise accuracy. And, Stop Motion Shot mode allows camera movement with factory settings and programmed number of shots.

FloatCam’s DC-Slider and the specially designed FloatCam Motion Control System and many of the other Matthews Studio Equipment products, Technology That Complements Your Imagination, can be seen in the Central Hall, Booth C5437.
