The VATOR II Family

For over 25 years Matthews Studio Equipment has supplied the international production communities with thousands of VATOR Stands. The LOW BOY, CRANK-O-VATOR and SUPER CRANK-O-VATORS have become the industry standard for rugged, heavy-duty, cranking stands. Based on this experience and continuing dialogue with industry professionals, Matthews is pleased to introduce a new family of VATOR Stands...VATOR II. This new family of VATORS retains all of the proven features of the past and integrates many new features that will ensure that this generation of VATORS continues to satisfy the industry's requirements for dependability and ruggedness as well as ease of operation and maintenance.

Among the many new features of the Vator II Family of stands:

• The elimination of the "Push to Release" button to raise the fixture. The now recessed button is still included in the lowering procedure as a safety feature.
• The new CRANK II and SUPER CRANK II have a loading height of 56" which is 6" lower than former cranks.
• Large 10" x 3-1/2" semi-pneumatic, puncture proof wheels for mobility and easy-locking Big Boy brakes for securing position.
• Only 7 moving parts in the entire assembly as opposed to more than 50 moving parts in our competitors' crank stands.
• All of the transmission parts in the family of VATOR II CRANKS drive system are interchangeable as are spider castings, leg brace supports, leg supports, handles and main body casting.
• Break-away design protects the handle and eliminates the need to reverse the handle for storage and/or transit.
• The columns can be raised and lowered without any weight.
• Wheel mount lower leg castings ensure long-term, lower-end rigidity.
• Strong, unitized construction provides greater stability and rigidity.
• Low Boy wheel and leg options.
• Larger, stronger pinion shaft for long-term reliability.
• Lower horizontal struts have been removed.
• No riser tube rotation.
