Wavelength Lighting LLC knows how to service Atlanta’s production market. That’s because owner Shalina Clark comes from an industry family; with her husband and two sons working in the field, Shalina gets a firsthand look at what the production community needs. And, she travels to all the major tradeshows around the world to make sure she’s getting the most innovative and best quality equipment. That dedication led to Wavelength providing LEDs for Marvel’s Black Panther and for the recently released action thriller Gemini Man.
Wavelength opened in 2014 at a time when the Atlanta market was beginning to boom and there were few rental houses offering LED equipment in Georgia. “The other rental houses in the area didn’t support the innovative lighting products that were beginning to take over sets,” Shalina says. “So, when people started needing more LEDs, a lightbulb went off.”
Eventually, Wavelength started expanding, and getting more and more grip requests. “That’s why we went to Matthews and wanted to carry Matthews Grip gear,” Shalina shared. “There’s other companies making grip equipment and lighting support, but we wanted to deliver another option.”
“Wavelength Lighting is our newest dealer in the Atlanta market,” says East Coast Account Manager Ken Emker. “With the Wavelength team’s knowledge of the equipment and the people in the Atlanta area, Matthews will work with Wavelength to get the right tools to the right people.” Boasting of multiple showrooms with the latest technology in lighting support and production equipment, Wavelength offers daily and weekly rentals as well as purchases.
At this year’s Cine Gear Atlanta, Wavelength’s booth was very telling in terms of their approach and their place in the local community, with the largest and most happening booth at the Expo. Presentations highlighting new innovations, giveaways, a bar, and meeting areas made the Wavelength booth an extremely lively place to be. And, all of the lighting support and grip equipment was the latest and greatest from Matthews.
