Grips carry multiple lengths of 5/8" rod because a one-size solution doesn't exist - until now. The Matthews 5/8" Grip Rail is a fully telescoping baby pin adjustable rail that closes to 24" and extends to 42.5", covering the range where you used to pack three or more separate rods.
The 5/8" Grip Rail solves a problem that shows up every time you work in a tight space. A standard grip arm forces you to deal with the full arm length — all of it. Whatever doesn't fit behind the light or the rig has to go somewhere, and in a car, a bathroom, or any confined space, that somewhere is a window, a wall, or another piece of equipment. This telescoping baby pin adjustable rail extends only as far as the job requires. Use what you need. The rest stays in.
The solid stainless steel inner rod keeps everything true under load — no flex, no sag, no bow. Alternating hash marks and flat spots every two inches let you dial in your position and lock it down to prevent roll. An internal stop keeps the sections from separating. The steel baby pin includes a knurled undercut so fixtures won't drop if things get loose, a safety hole for a cotter or lynch pin, and a female 1/4"–20 thread that converts to male 1/4"–20 with the included set screw.
